The wood chip cycle

Our business is pure sustainability, resource efficiency and regionality. Heizomat promotes an environmentally-friendly and socially responsible wood chip cycle and is itself part of this concept. The focus is on a regional value chain that benefits people, the environment and communities.

Promoting the regional timber industry

The raw material for gas, oil and many pellet suppliers comes from abroad, whereas the Heizomat model is 100% regional. Jobs are preserved and expanded in the forestry and timber industry. Women and men find work in nurseries, forestry, wood processing, logistics and at Heizomat itself.

We train apprentices and pay our taxes in this country, contributing to shared prosperity and the communities in our region. It has been shown that for each kW generated in our wood chip systems the government takes more in taxes than from imported oil, for example.

Sustainable from start to finish

We can demonstrate a seamless and clear value chain (see illustration). This starts with nurseries cultivating trees and state and private forestry companies maintaining them. The wood is then processed, stored, marketed and distributed by reliable partner companies.

And when the wood chips in our environmentally-friendly Heizomat devices are burnt, the users ultimately have ash – if they want, they can spread this out as a natural fertiliser in private gardens and parks.

Wood chip system operators have to make major investments initially. But in the long term they are cheaper to run and more environmentally friendly than other energy sources. And they do good for the region.
