New BAFA subsidy rates 2020!
The basis of the new BAFA grant funding is the development of a government incentive program for funding systems using renewable energy sources within the heating market. The guideline came into force on 01/01/2020.
A subsidy of 35% or even up to 45% for the purchase of a fully automatic wood chip heater from Heizomat is available on the scheme. A distinction is however made between private households and companies.

Subsidy programmes in Germany
There are various subsidy programmes for biomass and wood chip boiler systems. Unfortunately, not all options cannot be mentioned as there may be different subsidies at state, district or municipal level. Please contact the authority responsible for your area for more information.

Guidelines on subsidising measures for the use of renewable energy in the heat market
TFZ - Technology and Support Centre (Bavaria)
The TFZ is responsible for applied research and funding in the area of renewable raw materials.
Promotion of biomass heating plants in Bavaria.
KfW - Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau
KfW Förderbank provides private housebuilders with funds to build residential property, renovate and modernise residential buildings and use renewable energies.
35% promotion
The following requirements apply here for private households and companies from 01/01/2021:
- Installation of a fully automatic wood heating system from Heizomat
- Buffer storage with at least 30 liters / kW
- Hydraulic balancing of the heating system
- Installation of a secondary particle separator
- Installation of a heat reader
- Application prior to conclusion of a purchase contract
- Funding only applies to existing buildings
The following also applies to private households:
- - The maximum funding limit is € 60,000 per residential unit within a private household, meaning:
- 1 residential unit corresponds to € 50,000 of which 35% is a maximum funding amount of € 17,500
- 2 residential units correspond to € 100,000 of which 35% is a maximum funding amount of € 35,000
- etc.
The following applies only to companies:
- The eligible costs are capped at € 1,000 per m² of net floor space up to a total of € 15 million.

45% funding
If you have an existing oil central heating system in your building, you will receive a subsidy of 45% on replacing the system.
