Energy price trends in Germany
Wood chips and other wood-based fuels are unbeatable in price. The price of wood chips in particular has been stable for years. Our Heizomat systems can also use cheaper wood chips made of waste wood, roadside greenery and thinning wood.
By contrast, the prices for gas and oil are quite different: they have seen strong increases, especially in the period from 2000 to 2009. Because gas is linked to the oil price, this energy source also rose faster in price than the actual extraction costs. In addition, there are the EEG (Renewable Energy Act) levies in Germany. Oil prices have also risen in recent years. Crude oil prices do keep falling, but this is not a reliable option for the future due to the unstable political situation in many oil producing countries.
