Our Locations – Maicha and Heidenheim
Our locations are the heart of our company and reflect our development from a regional manufacturer to an internationally active specialist in biomass and wood chip technology. In Maicha and Heidenheim, we combine experience, craftsmanship, and modern production at the highest level. Both factories complement each other perfectly and together create the foundation for “Made in Germany” quality, sustainable energy concepts, and continuous growth.
Main Factory Maicha
The main factory in Maicha produces Heizomat biomass systems with around 130 employees on 35,000 sqm of production space, supplies customers worldwide, and consistently focuses on energy-efficient biomass supply.
Heidenheim Factory
Due to strong growth, Factory II was established in Heidenheim in 2005. Today, around 120 employees work on a spacious site with high production depth, manufacturing fully automatic wood heating systems and Heizohack wood chippers by hand, truly “Made in Germany”.
The Maicha Factory
Our main factory is located at the headquarters in Maicha (Landkreis Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen, Bavaria). Around 130 qualified employees manufacture Heizomat wood chip and biomass heating systems as well as wood chippers. Products are now delivered worldwide. When the company was founded in 1982, we used only 10 sqm for development and administration. Today, our production area in Maicha (Factory I) has grown to around 35,000 sqm. Naturally, we are pioneers in energy efficiency and heat all buildings exclusively with biomass.
At the Maicha factory, you will find chipper final assembly, control cabinet construction, the turning shop, and special construction, as well as the new Heizomat world. Our new exhibition and office building includes a chipper handover center, a large training area, and a canteen for employees and guests. The Heidenheim Factory
The positive business development and growing demand for our Heizomat wood heating systems led to the acquisition of the former Hahnenkammkaserne site in Heidenheim in 2005 (also in our home district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen). This gave us 370 hectares of space and possibilities for future growth. The initially used halls (Factory II) were already too small after a few months, so in autumn 2006 we commissioned an additional production hall measuring 200 x 33 meters.
By 2014, production capacity at this site reached its limit. The hall was expanded by 150 meters. A year later, we celebrated the inauguration under the motto “Heizomat and Friends” – around 13,000 visitors attended the open day to learn about our company. Today, around 120 employees work in Factory II, producing fully automatic wood heating systems and Heizohack wood chippers. We are particularly proud of our production depth of over 80%. Following our motto, products are not mass-produced on a conveyor belt but are still made with heart and hand – Heizomat products are true handcrafted “Made in Germany”.
