The municipal center of Küssaberg houses all essential public facilities. When selecting a new heating system, sustainability was very important to the town council. The fuel comes exclusively from the municipality’s own forest, with technical support for wood chip production provided by local farmers.

Sportpark Regensburg

In the east of Regensburg, Sportpark Ost was built as one of the most modern sports and leisure facilities in the region. The public indoor swimming pool and athletics hall provide ideal conditions for school, club, and competitive sports. A 3,000m² solar thermal system combined with a wood chip boiler covers the entire heat demand of the sports park and the adjacent residential area.

Stadtwerke Emmendingen

Stadtwerke Emmendingen operates 3 local heating networks and has relied on energy from wood chips for 20 years. In the Schwarzloch local heating network, the old heating system was recently replaced by a new Heizomat system.
